Issue with Query builder and CAD Documents status

Version: Windchill 12.0

 

Use Case: Trying to build a report to output all CAD objects, object specific parameters, and status.


Description:

Overall the report I have works, except for 1 field.

I had to use the CAD Document table due to the way the object parameters were set up.

The report works, but when I run it, status.status shows "Checked In" for items that are checked in, but also for items new in someone's workspace. While this might be useful information sometimes it's not the core of what we need from this report and would rather filter those out.

 

Assuming it's a CAD document Status versus the EPM Document status. I tried to link CAD Document to EPM Document but the connections have failed. I've done EPM Document reports with proper status data, but they wouldn't get me the object attributes in this system (and I can't change this system for other reasons).

Location does have /Default/... and /<user>/... but also not filterable. 

 

Any thoughts on how I can limit this report down to just common space items or connect to the other tables to gather that info? Thanks,

I'm not sure if this is the best way, but what I typically do is link the CAD Document to Administrative Domain, then add a Criteria that Administrative Domain.Name equals default

I'd love to learn if others have found a more elegant solution to omit CAD objects in Workspaces.

I'm not sure if this is the best way, but what I typically do is link the CAD Document to Administrative Domain, then add a Criteria that Administrative Domain.Name equals default

    This did help me narrow down the results. Though I too would love a more elegant solution if anyone has one.

    Status.status showing "checked in" for new in workspace items seems like an error to me. Though wouldn't doubt if it's always been that way.

    I tried using https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS236226 to connect CAD Document to EPM Document, but status is still showing as checked in.

    I'm not sure if I understand your request correctly, however I will point you to this article regarding objects that are new to the user workspace and not yet checked in.
