Linking Spreadsheet data - Checked into Windchill

So some of this might be a Microsoft capability issue... some might be Windchill.  However, Looking to find a way to link checked in spreadsheets together.   Example.  I have a Summary Workbook.  I am going to perform statistics against multiple other workbooks.  Develop charts, sum, calculate etc.   

Has anyone handled this with Excel + Windchill (DTI or not?)
