Managing EMX and TDO Data Uploads in Windchill: Challenges & Solution

Hi Everyone,

Iā€™m currently exploring how EMX (Expert Moldbase Extension) and TDO (Tool Design Option) data can be effectively used within Windchill during the upload process. I want to understand more on this.

  • What common challenges and issues may we encounter during the upload

  • How can we anticipate and mitigate those issues before uploading

  • Best practices, and suggestions we can provide to users to avoid errors

For example, Change Management is typically not feasible for EMX assemblies due to multiple interrelated component dependencies. In such cases, a direct revision process is recommended instead of formal change objects.

If you have experience, examples, or documentation related to these processes, please share your knowledge with me.
