We've recently been using the embedded mozilla browser due to what seems like constant ie/windchill annoyances. One of my users sent me this, does anyone have any advice?

Couple of things,

I recommend don't going to java 1.7. Stay with Java 1.6.0_45 or higher. Second, what version of IE are you on. Google Chrome plug-in may help. Just make sure in your IE options, your active X is all enabled and your java securities are at the lowest. Also, IE options, general, settings, check for new version, is set to every time I visit the web page.

I had many of discussions with PTC technical support with calls, and all of them told me to stay away from Java 1.7.0. until 10.2. It is just too many issues to deal with. After you have installed Java JRE 1.6.0_45 on all the clients, you have to change the clients registries so that Java JRE doesn't auto update on the clients.

Good luck,

Patrick

If some of your clients are still using Windows XP, IE 8 is the highest. And yes, some clients stil use XP even though Windows has stopped placing patches on the OS since last April.

Good Luck,
