MPMLink "Standard" vs "Capability"

What is the difference (both in usage and technical capabilities) of a Standard vs a Capability? The class material states that a “Capability” is a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and a “Standard” is a proven process. That doesn’t really help me Anyone have a better definition or examples? Also, what can each do technically?
