Question

Name = Number = Filename

We upgraded WIndchill recently and lost to automatically filling of the name and number to equal the filename with extension. We had some external script we set up over 10 years ago but no one remembers how it was done. I have the number synchronized using Windchill preferences but don't know how we scripted the name to be the same as the filename automatically on initial check-in.

Searched several posts but didn't see how to so this for Name.

When you say, no one remembers how to do it?

Does that mean you have the script (source code) but you don’t know how to implement it?

Or

We probably have it in the old Windchill system but no one knows where it is.

Or

The script is gone and there’s no way to recover it.

If you have the script how about posting it here.

Also, can you post OIR from old system and new here as well. They should the same unless you changed after upgrade.

This may be a case where an attribute was calculated by a custom algorithm in OIR and the custom algorithm is in the script.

If you post what you have I’ll take a look.
