Need a timed task to complete a Variance

Hi folks,

I am working on a workflow for a Variance and I need to find a way to send a task based on a date (or days from)?

The author enters in an end-date for the Variance and then in the workflow I need a user to complete a task to close or extend the variance. I would like to send them that task the day before the end-date.

Any ideas?

• I looked at using Ad Hoc but the Duration is not what I think it is. The task is sent at once.
• Action Items, same thing - the Action is sent at once even with a future Start date.
