Use Case: XML files as input of automatically created Variant Configurations in WNC

Description:

Hello,
Does PTC plans to implement the feature into the Winchill to import XML files as input of automatically created Variant Configurations? Would it be able after creation start certain defined WF/Processes just after automatically?
Is it planned to be like OOTB functionality in WNC13 or later in WNC+?

Hi,

Are you talking about Variant Specification of Variant Itself(BOM).

For Variant spec, Its an already existing capability.

Its from a spread sheet, but I think , loading from a spread sheet could be easier.

On your 2nd question, you can create the LC template of the Variant Spec or the Delivery (BOM) such that its initial phase triggers a workflow.

not sure what the issue here , but we have xml loader to create Variant spec https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS197991 , there is also an excel loader Loading Variant Specifications from a Spreadsheet
