Oracle 11g passwords expire in 180 days

If you have deployed a Windchill solution using Oracle 11g, be aware that by default, Oracle passwords expire in 180 days.
6 months after you deploy your Windchill product, you may find everything grinding to a halt.

Although the above TAN is for a different PTC product, its' resolution should apply to anything that uses Oracle 11g.
(Do not use the alternate technique.)
