Part Configuration and Instance - Change of usage attribute Trace Code for a child in a Part Instance

Hello,

We sometime change your mind during the assembly about how or if a component should be traced.

Change the Trace Code value for an Instance Child is not possible in a Part Instance or in a Part Configuration.
Windchill 12.0.2.8

We will have to do a lot of work to just update this attribute for one Child.

Example:
1-Modify the Base Part, which is in Released state, that's mean a Revision (And a Change Notice).
2-Create a new Part Configuration for this new version of the Base Part. (And set version of untraced child)
3-Assign the existing Parent Instance to the new Part Configuration.
4-Re-allocate all the child with trace code previously allocated.
=> But if there is already a new revision on the Base Part, this is not possible by the user because the only way is to iterate the previous released revision.

It is possible to allow modification of the usage attribute Trace Code for a child in a Part Instance or in a Part Configuration ?
