Question
Port 80 Download Latency from India – Request to Change HTTP Listener to Port 8080 in Windchill 10
I am using Windchill PDM Essentials Release 10.2 and Datecode with CPS M010-CPS09
We’re investigating a client-side performance issue and need assistance changing the external HTTP listener from port 80 to 8080 for Windchill PDM Essentials 10.2 (PTC HTTP Server/SQL/Apache front-end,).
Observation: In multiple tests from our India site, large file downloads are noticeably delayed only on port 80; other ports do not show the delay.
Request: Please provide/confirm the supported procedure for Windchill 10.2 to (1) move Apache from 80 to 8080, (2) avoid conflict with SQL and etc.. default 8080 connector, and (3) update any Windchill URL properties if required.
Environment is Windows (PTC HTTP Server + Windchill/Tomcat). We can provide logs if needed.
Here are the errors that I faced
Are you aware of any known issues or restrictions affecting large file downloads over port 80 from India, possibly related to government network policies? If so, can you recommend any alternative solutions besides changing the HTTP listener port?
