Problem with PDM link browser square sections blocking the view

Every time I open the PDM link browser in Creo Parametric 3.0 the window upper left corner is blocked by one or 2 square blank sections, blocking the information underneath them. The top items in my workspace can not be read at all. If I copy the address of the browser and paste into a new window the problem disappears, but it is annoying to have to do this every time. Is there a way to "cure" the browser from this defect?
