PTC Thumbnailworker prefers DWG over PDF in representation

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 12.1 and Datecode with CPS 12.1.2.1

We have a representation on an EPMDocument published with a custom AutoCAD Worker. The publishing works flawless, but since customer needs DWG in representation (beside the published PDF) we found that the PTC ThumbnailWorker prefers the DWG for thumbnailing over the (monochrome) PDF which results in coloured PDFs.

Do you have any advise to get the PTC (OOTB) ThumbnailWorker to use the PDF (instead of the native DWG in representation) for creating thumbnails?

Hi @achirila
what more details to write?
Custom AutoCAD Worker does publish a EPMDocument (AutoCAD is Authoring Application) and the Representation hosts the PDF and (exported) DWG native file.
A OOTB Thumbnailworker is being used to generate preview-viewable hosted on a dedicated thumbnailworker host.

Thumbnail is being generated, but the preview-thumbnail (small/large) is colorful (and not black-white as in PDF).
If the DWG is NOT included in the Representation, the thumbnail is monochrome (as derived from PDF).

  1. cadagent.pvfiletypes => remove DWG from pvfiletypes property => Thumbnail is monochrome
  2. cadagent.pvfiletypes => included DWG from pvfiletypes property => Thumbnail is not monochrome.

So is there a property/setting on Thumbnailworker to have monochrome thumbnail if DWG is present in Representation?

regards

Patrick
