Publisher Administrator account

I have an account called publisher administrator. On my publisher server, i am running Creo Parametric 7 and it uses this account but I am not sure what its for. I have a saved password in the browser cache so i dont have to remember the pw but when I did an upgrade the cache password disappeared so I will need to reset the account password. Does anyone use a publisher administrator account and if you do what is it for? Any consequences in setting a new pw?

I am on Windchill PDM link 11.1 CPS 20.

Hello @tjerome ,

If the pswd is changed admin usually forgets to change the auth.properties file to new password.

To encrypt auth.properties file follow the article CS154564

If this is the publishing account, you should check the creo view adapters installation guide for more information and look at the wvs.properties file on the Windchill server. this is a named user/pw combination that could be encrypted and will need to be updated for the system to work properly.
