New for 10.x for a report on the Select tab is "Java Method" in parallel with Attribute, Function, etc.

There is essentially no help documentation on using. Anyone have experience with this?

Mostly just curious at this point.

thx

There is some information on it in the customizers guide.

For more information, you can check the following topics in the 10.1 M030 Help Center, available on ptc.com:

The available Java Methods are those that are specified in the queryBuilderMethods.xml configuration file. See http://www.ptc.com/cs/help/windchill_hc/wc101_hc/index.jspx?id=WCCG_BUSLogicCust_ReportGeneration_JavaMethods&action=show

Once you’ve updated that file, in the Query Builder you need to run the File>Reload Java Methods menu action. See: http://www.ptc.com/cs/help/windchill_hc/wc101_hc/index.jspx?id=QBFileMenuRef&action=show

The Java methods themselves are added to queries on the Select tab: http://www.ptc.com/cs/help/windchill_hc/wc101_hc/index.jspx?id=QBSelectItemAdd&action=show

I suspect this may be a case in which we didn't provide adequate coverage in either the What's New or the MOR Content Overview; I'll follow up on that. We have made enhancements to documentation about new and changed functionality a priority in our Windchill 10.2 Help Center.

Hi MikeLockwood,
I am getting the java class and method which I specified in queryBuilderMethods.xml but now i am not getting an input text field to get user inputs as argument to that method.
