Question on Windchill perpetual license

Hi

We have a number of old perpetual Windchill light & heavy licenses in out bunldle but they are expired in 2009. When you now want to use these licenses do you need to pay the maintenance fee for the years 2009->2021 ?

Just want some confirmation on that point.

Yes, likely but I think you are past the point where that makes financial sense.  You should just buy new but the packages have changed since then. They are leased licenses now and do not have maintenance.

    PTC will no longer renew expired licenses.

    You will need to subscribe to get new licenses on a yearly subscription basis.

    Your investment in the original licenses is now written off and worth nothing.

    If you are Windchill prior to !!.1, you do not need licenses to run or use the software, it was only an accounting trick. Since 11.1 was released, there is now a Windchill license check when you log in.
