RAM usage Large page high on Windchill application server

Hello admins,

hard to find answers to what I lack basics of,

 

we’re running Windchill 11.1 M020 CPS13 on a vmware virtual server with Win Server 2012 R2, RAM 8GB. When Windchill services are running the memory consumption is about 7,0GB of which about 2,5 is “Large Page” without reference to any specific file or process.

Java.exes take about 2,1 GB which I think is expected.

When Windchill related service are stopped the Large page disappears.

What is this related to?

    Hello,

     

    Please check the heap memory assigned to the method server , server manager and background method server. Looks like they are consuming it.

    Hi Ajit,

     

    how do you mean?

    The assignments are according to the general spec 80% to Windchill, 80% of that to method and bg method, 10% to server manager.

    8GB is marginal for running Windchill. See if you can get the virtual servers reconfigured for 12-16GB minimum. I have mine configured for 32GB. My physical servers also have 32GB that run Windchill.

      Hi Ben,

      well, yes, you're right.

      Before that we / I got sort of stuck with that Large page consumption without understanding whether that's ok or not.
