Reassigned task and workflows

Sounds like you want more than just a task reassignment, you want to update the user in the workflow Role. You might be able to do something like that by making it a Set Up Participants task. The challenge there would be that usually someone else completes a Set Up Participants task first, and then that sets who the target task will be assigned to.

Maybe if the target task had an additional routing that would calculate the participant assignment, but then just loop back again for task completion (approval or whatever it is). Even if you got that working, however, it would be a few more clicks for your users and they might just keep doing the Reassignment anyway since that's what they're used to.

Other than that, you could try to develop code in your workflow to detect the user who completed a task, then update the workflow team for that role.
