References to CAD Documents from drawing is not updated after renaming the CAD Document

Hi,

 

We have migration project ongoing from Windchill to Windchill using WBM. During full load migration, we observed that some CAD documents are already available in target system. We have renamed the data in staging database and continued with loading. Data loading was done successfully into Windchill. But when opening assemblies containing the renamed CAD documents, it is throwing errors and references to old name of cad documents are being searched.

 

Please guide, how to handle these kind of issues when dealing with renaming the duplicate objects

I do not know how WBM are working with CAD. But in general CAD objects have 3 master attributes related to Rename. Number, Name and File name. Name is not Unique. Did you also change File Name?

It may be better to do the rename in the source system and test it can be open in the CAD tool with all correct references.

Hi @jvonzastrow1, We did change Number and FileName of the CAD Document. Also tried tried changing the master attributes in Source system. It worked and file references are intact. Need to re extract and perform loading using WBM. In the mean time wanted to understand are there any other reference tables that needs to be touched? Regards Srikanth
