Replace item in Windchill BOM

When an existing item is added again using “Insert Existing” option, a warning message is shown.

But when an item is replaced with an existing item using “Replace with Existing” option, no warning message is shown, and the item got duplicated

 

Are you working on it to solve in the future version?

If you can give screen shots on the warnings, it will be easier to understand.

Should be good if same warning message appear also in this case

Hi @Claude76FR 

Create an Idea that covers your needs. 

If the idea does not exists the information alert will never be delivered. 

 

I can imagine that the function with replace does not inform you because it is expected that you know what you are doing and you replace part to another by some change request..

If you add a "new" part, system inform you that the item is already in the BOM because it can be mistake. or not. depends on how the BOM is used...
