Saving an old version/iteration of a part as a new version (without Creo)

Hello everyone,

 

Is there any way to save an old version or iteration of a part as a new version in Windchill without using Creo Parametric?

 

I have a part with latest version of C.1 and I'd like to return back to version B.1 without deleting version C. I thought that I could revise the part to version D and somehow copy the B.1 version over the D.0 but I can't figure how to do that in Windchill.

 

I found this article which describes how to do exactly that with Creo Parametric:

But I would prefer a method for doing it in Windchill. Is it even possible?

You may need to change preferences.

  • Navigate to Site (or specific Context) > Utilities > Preference Management > Revise 
  • Set value Yes for the preference ​Allow revise of non-latest revisions
  • Browse to the latest iteration of a previous revision from Object's History tab
  • Actions > Revise

    Thank you, this was just what I was looking for!

     

    So the solution was to set Allow revise of non-latest revisions setting to Yes and then I could revise the A.1 version, which creates a revision D.0 with the data from A.1.

    Lets clarify some information.

    Windchill iterations, A.x, B.x, 0.x, where x is the iteration always start at 1, not 0.

    When revising a file, lets, say C.5 to D.1, all of the X.1 revisions are equivalent to the prior version, last iteration. C.5 is equal to D.1.

     

    Using the Allow Revise of Non-latest revision will allow you to take your A.5 and make it D.1, assuming you have a B and C version.
