We are experiencing an issue with Windchill Performance Advisor data transmission.

The system generated the following notification:

Sending of the Windchill Performance Advisor report to PTC has failed due to:

Network Failure - check the background method server logs.

Event Time: 8/8/26, 7:40 AM

Server URL:
http://windchill.ni.corp.natinst.com/Windchill

Performance Advisor Page:
http://windchill.ni.corp.natinst.com/Windchill/apps/wa/templates/performanceAdvisorMainPage.jsp

Additionally, when executing Test Transport from the Performance Advisor UI, the following error is displayed:

Test Transport failed. Unable to connect to file receiver please try after sometime

MS Logs:
2026-08-08 02:32:37,178 ERROR [ajp-nio-127.0.0.1-8010-exec-4] com.ptc.wa.rest.services.impl.WAServiceImpl wcadmin - ***Exception occurred while sending the report through HTTP mechanism com.ptc.wa.WAException: java.io.IOException: HTTP(S) response code: 406; message: Not Acceptable

However, our investigation indicates that this is likely not a network connectivity issue:

The Windchill server can successfully resolve and reach support.ptc.com.
HTTPS communication is working.
Manual POST requests to https://support.ptc.com/apps/pa4all/Validate.jsp return a valid response from the PTC server.
No SSL, DNS, timeout, or connection errors are observed.

Hi Catalina,

today, when I returned from vacation, I found the same error mentioned in this thread in the emails I received during that time.

The problem lasted three days and then went away, more or less at the same time this issue was reported.

I think the error was on PTC’s side—they’ve since resolved the issue—and not on the user’s side.
