Is it possible to use two Windchil systems in parallel?.

E.g, a local UK based windchil totally seperate from a HQ system.

I will work mainly off the UK local system but from time to time i will need to dip into the established HQ PDM to retrieve common components.

Please help!

Hi

Do you want to work with 2 windchill servers in a single PC?

If so it is possible.

Else you can explain your requirements

Yes head office has an established PDM system, they wont grant us full write access we only have read access.

So we work offline, but models are being lost and not revised etc. So we need our own PDM system, but also access to head office PDM for read access.

So how would it work would we simply switch PDM / Servers?

Hi

Working with multiple servers is not very difficult

After you install your Windchill Server;

Start your Pro-e

Go to Tools>Server Manager>Register new Server

Then you can see two Servers

Now you Can Choose the Server you want to work and switch the erver when required

For two Servers different workspaces are created.

So there is no problem when you switch servers

Initially When our Windchill Servers were setup in Our Company; For 2 to 3 months there were two servers in our Company.

One Test Server and one Production Server.

Its quite easy and simple to swich between servers
