I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 11.0 and Datecode with CPS M030-CPS10

While editing the part attribute the values get merged.

What a softtype? What an attribute? what values? What types? 

It is not clear what your needs or what is your issue.

Type - part.

Attributes - XXXX (Example - Material), data type - String

Constrains - Legalvalue

You need to check the type and attribute management definition of the enumerated list 

There can be some wrong definition.

Can you check and correct type and attribute in subtype (document or part type) in organization or site utility with admin credential ,

check weather may be the attribute legal value or enumerate value then correct spacer ( | ) in between value
