Hi All,

As I using Upgrade Manager Windchill >> Upgrade when a module is missing

Failed in Verifying upgrade path step(see atachments)

Where I find or download  the installer PTC Windchill PLM Connector – Creo Package ? because in our Windchill 11.0 (source systems),its already installed.

Based on Upgrade Manager Guide>> the required products (modules) installed on the source system are also installed on the target system.

I can not find the link of this installer in PTC software downloads page.

Note : Upgrade form Windchill 11.0 to Windchill 12.1.

Any ideas or suggestion for this issues?

Thank you

Regards

The target systems has to match which means you need to install that first.

PTC Windchill PLM Connector - Creo Packages Administrator's and User's Guide

Check again in the PSI for your target system at all the options. If its not listed as a software download, contact PTC since based on your licenses, it may be hidden from view. If that is in error, they should be able to correct it.

Does the company still use the module?  Sometimes the need for a module goes away and the company quits paying PTC for it.  Then PTC removes access to the software.  At least that used to be PTC's policy.  I suspect it still is given the last lines in the first article below.

It is possible to remove modules during upgrade.

https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS210470

Don't install the unnecessary module(s) on the upgrade target.

Set the skippedAssemblyIds on the upgrade target.

Upgrade.

You can get the installed assembly IDs from the psi_iir.xml file or from the exported upgrade manager history from the database.

https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS143604

UpgradeManager -exportdbhistory D:\dbHistory.xml

PTC doesn't test this upgrade configuration and you are on your own with respect to what it might break post-upgrade.  Ensure the business team tests everything after the first upgrade pass.  You can do this if a module was installed and never used.  However, if the module was used by the company, I would see about getting the temporary license from PTC to provide access to the software download for the upgrade.

Hallo,

Thanks so much @mmeadows-3 @avillanueva for your advices. We did to remove this unnecessary modul (PLM Connector) as your suggestions ("Set the skippedAssemblyIds")  so upgrade manager will be able  continue to running/verifying next journey.
