Validation on checkin through workspace

How can i add a validation on the checkin wizard through workspace, to check if the location selected is not default folder of the context?

It might be easier to change the default folder location permissions to not allow people to create/modifying objects in the default folder - forcing them to pick a sub folder during check in where they have permissions to create/modify.
