Version first value different from A

Hi

using Windchill 10.2

I'd like to create new WT parts ( with CAD data, documents ,...) directly in Version state different from first one .

For example F or G instead of A.

Is it possible to force a specific value avoiding to generate the regular promotion process ?

Use import from spreadsheet - from Actions at the Product level.

1. Find / create a simple existing product structure, select Structure, then Export, select Export Importable spreadsheet - this gives a template.

2. Save as on the spreadsheet, then edit the values, including Revision.

3. Import - WTParts created at desired non-first value.

Then, bring into workspace and associate with existing CAD and build structure.

At previous company, we did this incrementally for 60,000 WTParts.

We developed a custom action that a user can execute which changes the Revision for the object and any linked object, such as CAD Object. The action is available to them as long as the object is at it's first revision (determined by OIR for the context) and has never been released. This enables them to specify a revision letter of their choice.

But yes this is not something that you can do from the UI.
