WGM SOLIDWORKS2016 opening Creo Part(.prt or .asm)

Dear WC GURUS,

 

How to Open .prt or .ASM existing WIndchill file in WGM Solidworks in solidworks2016, Any suggestions or need to follow any specific process.

(Getting this error :

Failed to open in SolidWorks 2016: lp-tm-p-test-clamp-115.prt. <C:\Users\eb010956\Documents\PTC Places\Workspace\lp-tm-p-test-clamp-115.prt> does not exist.

)

All open suggestion are welcome.

I don' t think this is a supported use case for WGM. WGM doesn't allow you to open Creo authored files in SW. The last time I tried, It doesn't even allow neutral files created in Creo to be opened in SW

    Rahul - @BineshKumar1 is corrrect. This use-case is not really supported. If you can elaborate on the use-case and what you are trying to accomplish, we might suggest some alternate workflows. 

     

    You should be able to export / Save A Copy >> SolidWorks from Creo (you will need the Collaboration Extension for SolidWorks licenses in Creo) and then open that in SolidWorks via the WGM.
