Windchill MBOM Save-As

My company makes custom filter equipment for each order. We are experimenting with EBOMs within WC. We would be making new MBOMs for every piece of equipment because no two are the same. Is there a way to Save-As both the EBOM and MBOM at the same time? I know you can Save-As the EBOM but that would require an MBOM to be remade for every single WTPart structure. Is there preference or setting I am missing?

One action method does not exist.

Here is the idea where you have an example how to create a copy eBOM with mBOM also with associated process plan.

The video shows how to save as mBom with new saved eBom

It is not one click solution, but it is solution. In the past there were not this mBOM save as option.

I think without customization, its a two step process. Creating the MBOM from the EBOM, initially, they start out exactly the same.

Thank you for the reply. I will send that potential idea forward.

To add to this, is it required for the eBOM to be released before we can create the mBOM? Forcing two separate CNs to go thru the process?

The release operation is not needed generally, but it depends on your lifecycle configuration or company needs.
