Windchill non prod environments data

Hello,

We have a lot of Non prod windchill environments and we are looking for a way to get rid of production data for non prod env and have some synthetic data that mimics prod.

could anyone suggest if they have done anything similar for their organizational needs. if yes, how did you manage to create prod like data.

You can import production metadata into the test system and have the test system read the production vaults in read-only mode.

 

This way, at a certain point after the data import, the two systems will be in sync; from that point forward, the test system will have its own new metadata, and new files stored in its vaults, while the old ones will be read from the production system.

 

This allows you to avoid duplicating vault data, which takes up the most space, especially if you also manage CAD data with Windchill.

Thanks Marco for your reply.

We have 2 problems here, 1 is our vault is quite huge , about 150TB , copying that always has a huge impact on cost and space.

Plus our security team does not want us to have any Prod data in lower systems, hence the requirement to create synthetic data.
