Question

Windchill PDMLink and ProjectLink on Macintosh? (Version 9.1 M030)

Hello,

Several of our Windchill users are switching over to Macintosh laptops.

1. Do you know of any compatibility or setup issues that might need to
be addressed or communicated to them?

2. Are there any known Issues? (We are on Windchill PDMLink, ProjectLink
9.1 M030)

Please let me know.

Appreciate your advice and input.

Regards,
Rekha

Rekha,

I have been using a Mac for a couple years now and have not
experienced any major problems accessing Windchill (version
8 or 9.1). There are some minor annoyances, for example with
the display of some applets, but I have not found any "show-
stopper" issues.

Ron,

Do you use windows on your Mac or the Mac OS side?

Rick,

I use Mac OS X almost exclusively. Once in a while, if I have to,
I will fire up Windows XP in a VM image. There are some
applications in the PTC tool suite that don't run under OS X,
like ProductView and Arbortext, so I use a VM for that. But
for software development and general high level system architecture
type tasks, which is where I tend to spend most of my time these
days, I can stay in the Mac world.
