Windchill UWGM Crashing (WIth Inventor as CAD) while Switching between workspace in 10.2 M030 CP01, anyone suggest where to debug the reason?

Windchill UWGM (uwgm_client.exe) Crashing (wIth Inventor as CAD) while Switching between workspace in 10.2 M030 CP01. The crash happens randomly and not able to reproduce easily. Atleast 2 to 3 times the users are experieancing the crash. After restart of WGM it works normal. Anybody have suggestion to debug? Will be great help. Thanks

Hi Nazeer,

We are seeing something similar with Unigraphics NX on 10.2 M020 CPS 06. A few users report the problem, but not all users. We're still trying to debug and we have been providing logs to PTC, but we have no idea what the root cause it yet. I'll let you know if we learn something.

Thanks for the reply. We also heared from PTC support that another customer is facing this issue with Inventor and they have given the fix for this to test. We are waiting the result from this customer. This issue is annoying as its not easily reproducable and only few users face this issue randomly when they swap the workspace.

Let us know more when you have some clue.

We seem to have this issue as well. We are running Windchil 10.1 M050. It happens not only when changing workspaces, but also when we are adding parts to our workspaces. Also, with larger workspaces (1000+), things seem to take much longer to do (update/syncronize/changing workspaces/refreshing workspaces etc). Do you guys notice that at all?

Did PTC get back to you with a resolution? Their resolution to us was to upgrade to the latest version of Windchill. I have a hard time presenting that resolution to my managers when they arent seeing anything good coming from Windchill.
