WVS Custom Generic Worker Configuration to publish 3DPDF

Version: Windchill 12.0

 

Use Case: I want to publish the 3D PDF with our custom executable file from Windchill.


Description:

Dear PTC Community,

 

I am reaching out for assistance regarding the configuration of a custom generic worker.
I have followed the steps outlined in the documentation CS67812., but I am unable to generate the. in and. out files in the temp directory after running the workerstart.bat file.

 

Moreover, I would like to run our custom executable file that converts Creo files from windchill into 3D PDF files.

Could someone please advise where I can set the location of this executable file in the configuration? Any guidance on how to properly integrate this executable into the worker setup to publish the 3D PDF?

A couple of notes from that article:

  • This particular procedure describes the correct process for configuring a custom Windchill Document worker, not Windchill CAD Documents
  • Because of this, it is only capable of processing a single content file from the WTDocument

Also, Creo only supports U3D as of now, and it only exports one combined state.

 

You might have to use some third party software until PTC adds this functionality for 3D PDF (Theorem, Elysium, Tetra4D etc)
