Version: Windchill 13.0

Use Case: The link below explains how to make custom attributes available in the criteria of an advanced search. However, I have noticed that I have custom attributes available that I can add to the criteria of an advanced search without following the process detailed in the article. https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/cs180432?_gl=1*cmfofr*_gcl_au*MjAyMjY0MTgwMi4xNzcwNzE2ODM5*_ga*NjYzNjgzODU1LjE3NzA3MTY1MDQ.*_ga_7NMP2MSYPM*czE3NzE0NDE4NjIkbzQwJGcwJHQxNzcxNDQxODcxJGo1MSRsMCRoMA..

Description:

Can anybody shed light on the circumstances that would require me following the process in the article?

Thanks very much @TDT . Would there ever be a need to follow this process for custom attributes or can I assume that custom attributes will always be available in the criteria section of an advanced search?

Hi @BF_13811900,

By default, all custom attributes that are created should be available in Advanced Search.
