Would you like to retrieve the information through an API, or are you looking to implement it in the UI?

Use Rest services getPart structure than you can put all needed criteria in Navigation criteria on the fly or  use existing filter saved on UI

I tried to read a users filter settings in the GWT enviroment (WTPart structure) many times and I always gave up.

It is not easy to find how the information is read in the backend .  

I could not find it. 

I usually create an own wizard with an own logic where I could do anything :D
