Attribute value needed in a single line but backend code customization not working

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 11.0 and Datecode with CPS M030

In one of the Type attribute; "Customer Name" we are unable to put it in a single line despite backend code change.
Tried to replace the codeline used to fetch customerNumber, but it did not work.
