Can anyone provide recommendations for documentation that can be used to build an understanding of Windchill customization basics?

I work as an IT PM and am looking to build a general awareness of customization constraints within Windchill. I am in no way looking to become a developer. This knowledge would be used to enhance scoping activities with our business teams. Thank you!

Hi Brett,

You can find some useful information and examples around UI customization if you enable the Customization tab from preference management under Client Customization. It also has links to Windchill Java Doc and other documentation if you want to figure out supported API's for customization.

You can always open a case with Technical support to check if the customization is supported in any given scenario.

There is also an example in the Windchill Customizer's Guide that includes modeling a new object type and the basic UI for that new object.
