Create a CAD document in a different state

Question

I have 5 states, design, development, production gate, production change and production released.

When a user create a new CAD document it starts in design and has to go through the production gate to reach production released.

The production gate is intended for CAD moving from development prototypes to production and requires extra approvals. But there are times when production engineers need to create a part which do not have to go through the production gate approvals. Is there a way allow them to create a part in the production change state? I see in the ACL that there are permissions for create in the specified state but I'm not sure how to set the life cycle state before creating and checking in a new part.

To add to what Fadel shared:

The initial state of the created object is controlled by the Object Initialization Rules (OIR). You would need an OIR that creates the object in the desired state, AND the users allowed to do so would need an ACL granting them that permission.

The option in the article Fadel shared is to add some other variable that the user sets which in turn is evaluated by the OIR to determine which initial state to use. If you're using WTParts related to the CAD, you'll need to consider how to manage their initial state as well.

Another possibility to consider is enabling your engineers to use a Set State. They could create the CAD as normal in the Design state, then they could use Set State to get it to Production Change.
