Customize Search results

All of our Creo parts & assemblies contain a string parameter called “DESCRIPTION”.  We would like to be able to search Windchill by the values entered for this parameter (and potentially others as well). 

Ideally, we would also like to add a column to both our Windchill view & our Workspace view that displays this parameter and it’s values.

  1. Add column for model parameter to Workspace/Windchill view:(item 1.png)

  2. Be able to search Windchill for specific Creo model parameters (item2 and 3 .png)

Very common need.

As admin, select a single Type (e.g. CAD Document) and search for something.  From Search Results, customize the View, either by editing or save as.  Add the attribute of interest. Expose this view to all users.

 

Very important - users have to search for a single Type to have this view available in Search Results.

 

Description (as opposed to DESCRIPTION) is an OTB modeled attribute on CAD. May want to hide Description from being something users are searching for if it is not used.  Description is on the master. DESCRIPTION likely is on the version and can be different for each version, changed via check out / edit / check in.
