Question

Email Title to specify enviroment.

We have multiple Windchill Enviroments and no real way to see where emails come from.

like subscription, task, error emails all look basicly the same.

Seaching for an clear answer seems to be impossible, i tested a few mentioned options but they don’t seem to work. I should be able to change the email templates but its not working as documented.

I have made an custom.properties file that contains the enviroment name.

Restarted server to clear cache etc.

Please is there a clear instruction to alter said items to include a custom enviroment name in the email titles.

    Hi @JH_14676020,

    I would suggest creating a custom workflow variable to store the environment information.
    Use an Expression Robot to call custom code and populate the variable with the environment details.
    You can then use this variable in the email subject wherever required.

    Thanks, yes this is basically the same as declaring a custom var in a property file.

    @JH_14676020 ,

    if it doesn’t work as document, then it seems that you found a bug in the software or documentation, and I’d recommend creating a support case.

    I would agree that there should be an obvious way to identity the originating environment, although you can see the URL when hovering over the resp. link.

    Don't think this is a bug, but '’normal'’ Windchill documentation :)  thanks. The url is a nice tip.

    “I should be able to change the email templates but its not working as documented.“

    I was just referring to your attempt to configure it correctly but perhaps I misunderstood :)
