Hi there,

Windchill PDMLink provides a small 3D - preview in the "details" tab of the object page:

So far so good.

But when model size increases or when You have a fair sized assembly, things can get quite bulky.

I tried this, but without any visible change.

How can I increase the preview quality?

i wish there was a way to make the thumbnail nicer looking. its depressing to see the ugly, scaled down one.

another option is to stop showing thumbnails and just show the thumbnail image. this will make the page load quicker and there's no one trying to manipulate the patched 3d thumbnail. look for the preference named "View Thumbnails in 3D" under Visualization. it can be updated by users or admin.

This is one of the very rare cases where I agree with the famous PTC support response "Works to product specification."

I can imagine how much it would slow down page loading to have a high-resolution thumbnail of an assembly with many aesthetic surfaces (as in my case) or with hundreds if not thousands of components.

I think that until PTC finds a way to improve quality, as written in the article, opening the thumbnail with Creo View may be a solution that takes little extra time.
