Security Label on Details tab

I've seen the Knowledge Hub on Security Labels and this page which allude to how to display the label on a details page.

That may have worked from 9.1 but I think things have long since changed since then.  Tables and Security Label history is covered as well as watermarks. Looks great. How then can they be added to Details page?

Has anything been improved in newer versions (11 or 12)?

The security label is added using an alias in the layout from Type and Attribute Management.
