Skip WTPart Creation for Specific CAD

Dear Team,

 

We are using Auto Associate option to create WTPart while doing checkin of CAD documents.
Now, for some numbering scheme - Suppose the CAD number included “Dummy” then for that CAD document - We don’t want to create WTPart in Windchill.
We are still following the same approach - WTPart creation using Auto Associate option.
How can we achieve this scenario?

If you do not want to use too much customizations you can use Part Structure Override Attribute Name preference

also check the Knowladge Base CS268136 - Article

You just determinate a boolean parameter in an creo on a model or on a assembly structure parameter and set the windchill preference.. 

The model attribute drives if the WTPart can be created during an autoasociate operation 

and the assembly structure attribute drives if the wtpart can be added to the structure.

Yes, this is doable.
You need to customize the implementation of the AutoAssociatePartFinderCreator interface according to your business logic.

​@TDT , first I am trying with Part Structure Override Attribute Name preference. Then if not achieved I will try with Customization properly.

    ​@HelesicPetr , I did the changes, still at the time of auto-associate and check-in procedure WTParts are getting created.
    Can you please help here?

    Usually the issue is in the configuration or miss understanding the value of the attribute yes no :D 

    If you do not want to create WTPart  the value has to be YES and it is confusing for users. 

    I advise to use specific name for the attribute. Something like DO_NOT_CREATE_WTP or something with similar meaning :D
