Task Escalation

Is there a way in Windchill that you are able to once a deadline and so many days have passed to where the task is then assigned to someone else? Once it is assigned to that other person I need an email to be sent to notify them of the change

I hope you figure out the problem by now, but if not.

 

This is standard functionality of a workflow task. 

EXAMPLE:

 1 For the given task, select the Deadline tab

 2 Set the deadline to 5 days

 3 Select Reassign to Responsible Role

 4 Select Notify Responsible Role before deadline (set notification to 2 days)

This will let the Responsible Role know 2 days ahead of time to take action to discuss with the assignee the importance of completing the task.

After 5 Days, the task will be assigned to the Responsible Role, they can reassign the task or complete it.

 

NOTE:  The Responsible Role is defined on the General tab of the task Activity
