Workflow activity customization

Hello everyone,

Can somebody guide how I can achieve following goal?

For workflow activity

• If a role is not having any participant then that role should be ignored (process initiator should not receive task for unresolved role).
• However, if role has principals, then those roles (and only those roles) should be required to complete the activity before it is allowed to move on.
