3D view fails when converting to PDF

I'm trying to make a PDF of a drawing in Creo 2.0. The .drw file displays the 3D view as it should (shaded view). Once the drw file is converted to PDF, the 3D view becomes a series of lines (see attached image). The model is a assembly containing an imported step file.

The problem occures only with imported parts.
