I have some large scan files from a router with many small line segments.  Creo error "you are attempting to import too many entities"  Suggested turning of "intent manager".  I can not find intent manager and it sketcher will not import the .dxf file.   If I hit Proceed, it does not import anything.   Is there a work flow work around for this to get the data into sketcher?

You can't import large DXFs directly in to sketcher.

Instead, import the DXF in to a part file using Get data - import - and choose the DXF.

You can use that DXF as a reference for sketches.

Same question in previous post.

Solved: Turn off Intent Manager in Creo 7 to import DWG wi... - PTC Community

You have not been able to turn off intent mangler for some time. I am sure R&D can still turn it off but not a normal user.

Thank you, I saw that post and was hoping someone had an improved workflow to still bring in the data or another solution rather than a 3rd party software.

Creo and Pro/E before it has never dealt with many entities in sketches well. They have always preached multiple simple sketches of minimal complexity over complex sketches.

Contact PTC support and ask if they can help you turn off intent mangler for this.

I am not sure what your end use case is, but I just went through this with a user a couple of days ago. In that case we imported the dxf into a symbol and then used the symbol on the drawing.

End goal is to get it into sketcher, I can import it into a drawing no problem.

I have imported some DXF files into a CREO part with a moderate measure of success.

I used PNG files to start with, and converted said PNG files into DXF file using various Internet sites.
I have found that some sites have a very high resolution when converting to DXF, resulting in many segments that make it difficult for CREO to create a working part.

This site is the best in terms of creating a very manageable resolution for the DXF file: https://imagetostl.com/convert/file/png/to/dxf#convert.
