Creo 3 Text Edit Mapkeys

We are trying to make the move to Creo Parametric 3.0 and are really struggling with recreating any mapkeys that deal with text on drawings in table cells or notes. The new method of entering text seems to be missing the ability to capture this process via a mapkey. There doesn't seem to be any way to start "edit text" mode or select all existing text via a mapkey. Has anyone figured out any workarounds?

No way to cleanly end the text entry process. Bloated mapkeys. No ability to manually edit the mapkey text after creation. Fun stuff.

It's like the team that came up with the new text editor workflow forgot to maintain (or replace) the existing mapkey functionality.

Tom,

I think you have two alternatives:

  1. open Case at PTC, ask PTC Support to open SPR and wait ... (in the best case it takes several months to resolve the problem)
  2. try software like AutoIt or AutoHotkey to get the requested functionality in couple of hours/days
