Dwg Basic Dimension Quantity In or Out of Box

In a drawing, is there an -easy- way to have the quantity for a basic (boxed) dimension shown outside the box? I realize you could add the qty as a separate text but am looking for a simple button flip or a config option? 3X [1.200]---- [3X 1.200]----

In the properties box try 3X @[1.200@]. I don't think there is a config setting that controls this.

I'm not sure it's a requirement that the 3X has to be within the control frame unless I missed something in the reading of the standard. There is an example where the number of times is outside the control frame although most have it within the control frame. We are running versions 3 and 4 and each behaves differently. WF3 default has the number of times within the control frame and the WF4 default has it outside. Is there a reason why one would show the number of times outside versus inside?
