Flexible Hose routing in Creo Parametric 2.0

After selecting the appropriate stock for routing the pipe all we have to make sure before routing the pipe is to have the appropriate piping environment set for flex routing.

Once that is set, a single point from an array of points can be chosen for the pipe path as shown in the video.

    Our of curiosity...is the best practice to place the pipe features in the assembly as you have done or would it be better to have the pipe features inside a lower level part?  Also, are the points and coordinate system features being selected in the parts or are they at the assembly level?  Or another way to state this...what is the best solution for performance and reduction in external references?

    Hi Bill,

    It is always a best practise to have a separate piping assembly for all the piping componenets and features specific to pipeline routing like points and co-ordinate systems to be at the component level within that particular assembly

    Also it is recommended to use top-down design technique like skeleton modeling for optimum control of external references throug copy geom and inheritance features in piping assembly.
